After graduating from what is known today as University Technology Brunei Darussalam, I got an offer to join Environmental Health as a Probationary Health Inspector which requires me to underwent another university training overseas in order to qualified myself to practice competently in a career in public health.
A year after I gain my working experiances, I kisses my beloved hubby and two year old daughter (Our marriage is unique than the usual typical love story of a man met woman fell in love and a wedding. When we gotten married we also have a responsiblity of upbringing a two year old toddler. You might say how unique is that?, there are alot of people do married with children. But this sweet little girl are not ours genetically in the first place as me and hubby had never been married previously to anyone before, so one day I will tell the stroy insyallah ) and embarked on an adventure to the windy and wet Cardiff, Wales for a two year programme at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff undergoing Environmental Risk Management. Cardiff was the nicest place with lovely and friendly people. I am the only Asian girl or the non-local person in a classroom of more than twenty students but the friends that I met and made were very helpful and understanding.
Came back to Brunei as a new person from all the new knowledge and experiences I had reaped during my stint at University. For the next two years I buried myself into my work and juggling family life, enjoying every bit of it. In 2009 after nearly three years, the boss asked me to further my studies doing Bsc in Safety and Health Management. So after many thoughts (universities hunting) and finally decided for my next home in two years would be Nottingham Trent University, Nottinghamshire, UK.
As I had done it before, I was quite better prepared the second time round mentally and emotionally. It is a city university situated right in the city center of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire (Robin Hood County). Upon graduation I am so happy and humbled that my University had honoured me to be the best overall performance student in my course by giving a separate event just for the honoured students and presenting a cheque of £100 and a framed plaque. It had never crosses my mind that I am being honoured like so since I am the only non-local in course and English is not my mother-tongue. In the end I had made my family and my country proud by being brave enough to venture and fullfilling my dreams.
Upon graduation I packed all my belongings and bid my farewells to the great friends that had been there for me during my years in Nottingham and left a little bit of my heart to a place I had fallen in love Robin Hood County and head home to Brunei Darussalam.
Approximately ten months back to work I was thankful to Allah al-mighty for joyfully being promoted as a Public Health Officer in May 2012.
